How to Set a Reminder to Call Someone on iPhone

The quickest way is Siri: say “Remind me to call Anna tomorrow at 6 pm”. Or open Reminders, add a reminder such as Call Anna, tap the info button and set a date and time, plus Repeat if you want to call regularly. For reminders based on when you last talked, use a keep in touch app.

Updated October 2026

With Siri

  1. Say or type to Siri: “Remind me to call Anna tomorrow at 6 pm.”
  2. Siri adds the reminder to the Reminders app. At that time, you get a notification.

In the Reminders app

  1. Open Reminders and tap New Reminder.
  2. Type the title, for example Call Anna about the trip.
  3. Tap the info button, turn on Date and Time and set them.
  4. To call regularly, tap Repeat and choose, for example, Monthly. Tap Done.

Limits

  • A repeating reminder doesn’t know if you already called. It fires on a fixed date, even if you talked yesterday.
  • The reminder isn’t on the person’s contact, so you don’t see it when you open their card.

The easier way with Starrise Contacts

Starrise Contacts Pro has two kinds of reminders that live on the contact. See Keep in Touch reminders.

  • Keep in Touch reminders: decide how often you want to catch up with someone, every week, every month or twice a year. Starrise counts from the last time you were in touch and reminds you when it’s time.
  • To-dos with reminders: note “call back” on the person, pick a due date with one tap and get reminded on the day.
  • One-tap buttons to call or message when the reminder comes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get reminded to call someone back?

Ask Siri, for example “Remind me to call Anna back at 5 pm”, or create a reminder with a date and time in the Reminders app.

Can I get a repeating reminder to call my parents?

Yes. In Reminders, set a date and time and choose Repeat, such as Weekly. Keep in Touch reminders in Starrise Contacts Pro count from your last contact instead of a fixed date.

What is the difference between a reminder and a Keep in Touch reminder?

A normal reminder fires on a fixed date. A Keep in Touch reminder in Starrise Contacts Pro counts from the last time you were in touch, so it moves when you catch up early.
