NETWORKING TRACKER

A Networking Tracker That Shows Who’s Next

After a conference you have a dozen new names and the best intentions. A week later, half of them are forgotten. A networking tracker turns them into a simple flow: whom to reach out to, who answered, whom you met, and whom to keep in touch with. Starrise Contacts does it on a board, made of your own contacts.

A networking board in Starrise Contacts with the columns To Reach Out, Contacted, Met and Stay in Touch

From new name to real connection

The Networking template is the one your first board, “My Board”, starts with:

  • To Reach Out: people you want to write to. Add them right after the event.
  • Contacted: you sent the message. Now it’s their turn.
  • Met: you had the coffee, the call or the lunch.
  • Stay in Touch: the people worth keeping close, for years.

How to set it up

  1. Open Contacts in Starrise Contacts and tap the view menu at the top right. Choose Board. On the Mac, choose Boards in the sidebar (⌘6).
  2. Create a new board and start from the Networking template. It comes with the columns To Reach Out, Contacted, Met and Stay in Touch.
  3. Tap Add Contacts and tap the people you want on the board. Each person gets one card.
  4. Drag a card to the next column whenever something changes. Rename, add or delete columns until the board fits the way you work.

The rest of your networking toolkit

  • Notes with dates on what you talked about, so the next message picks up where you left off.
  • Lists per event, such as “Web Summit 2026”. Pick a list on the board to see only its cards.
  • The business card scanner (Pro) gets a card into your contacts in seconds.
  • Keep in Touch reminders (Pro) for everyone in Stay in Touch: every month, every quarter, any rhythm you like.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a networking tracker?

A way to see where you stand with each new contact: who you still need to write to, who answered, who you met and who you want to keep close. In Starrise Contacts it’s a board with a column for each step.

Can I use it instead of a spreadsheet?

Yes, and you don’t have to copy anyone into it. The board uses the contacts on your phone, so phone numbers, notes and messages are one tap away from each card.

Can I see only the people from one event?

Yes. Put them in a contact list, then pick that list on the board. Search filters the cards as well.
