How to Sync Outlook Contacts with iPhone

Open Settings, tap Apps, then Contacts, then Contacts Accounts, and tap Add Account. Choose Outlook.com for a personal account or Microsoft Exchange for a work or school account, sign in and turn on Contacts. Your Outlook contacts then appear in the Contacts app and stay in sync.

Add your Outlook account

  1. Open Settings, tap Apps, then Contacts.
  2. Tap Contacts Accounts, then Add Account.
  3. Choose Outlook.com for a personal account (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live) or Microsoft Exchange for a work or school account.
  4. Sign in. Your organization may ask you to approve the sign-in.
  5. Turn on Contacts and save.

If you use the Outlook app instead, it has its own setting to save its contacts to your iPhone, in the account settings of the Outlook app. Your organization may turn this off.

Limits

  • Some companies block contact sync to personal devices.
  • Removing the account removes its contacts from your iPhone, too.
  • Work and private contacts end up in one long list, unless you filter by account under Lists.
