STARRISE VS CARDHOP

Starrise vs Cardhop: A Use-Case Guide

Starrise Contacts and Cardhop share a starting point: both work directly on the contacts already on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. The difference is what they help you do with them. Here are the everyday jobs, one by one.

Updated October 2026

What both apps do

Both use your iCloud, Google and Exchange contacts as they are, run on iPhone, iPad and Mac, remind you of birthdays and anniversaries, and let you call or message someone with one tap. Cardhop is made by Flexibits, the makers of Fantastical.

Job by job

Remembering what you talked about

Starrise gives every person a notes timeline: as many dated notes as you like, searchable across all contacts. Type @ in a note to link it to everyone who was there. More on contact notes.

Staying in touch

With Keep in Touch reminders (Pro), you pick a rhythm for each person, every week, every month or twice a year, and Starrise reminds you when it’s time. Cardhop has no keep-in-touch reminders.

Birthdays and gifts

Both apps remind you of birthdays. Starrise also lets you choose the time of the reminder, keep gift ideas for each person and, with Pro, see name days. Cardhop has no gift ideas and no name days.

Things you promised

To-dos with reminders (Pro) sit on each person’s profile: call back on Friday, send the photos, and get reminded on the day. Cardhop has no to-dos per contact.

Seeing who lives nearby

Starrise shows your contacts’ addresses on a map, so you can see who is close by before a trip. Cardhop has no map.

Business cards

Both scan business cards: Starrise with Pro, Cardhop with Flexibits Premium.
