How the countdown works
The countdown counts calendar days from today, in your own time zone, to the next birthday. If the birthday is today, it says so. Someone born on 29 February celebrates on 28 February in years without a leap day, and the countdown does the same.
The exact age counts whole years first, then whole months, then the days left over. That is how age is usually given for babies and in forms that ask for it.
